COVID-19 precautions

Day Health Program
Open for takeout lunch from 12-1 p.m.; clients are required to undergo COVID-19 screening to enter the building. Scheduled individual appointments are taking place in-person and virtually; most in-person group activities continue to be on hold.

Inpatient Unit
The inpatient unit is operational. Regular visiting hours and regulations have been adjusted to match provincial hospital guidance due to COVID-19. The number of visitors is limited and visits need to be pre-booked; call reception for more information before visiting. All visitors will be screened and provided with a hospital-grade mask before entering the building.

Community Care Clinic
The community care clinic and distribution of harm reduction supplies remain unchanged.

Casey House is a judgement-free space that is committed to our clients’ safety and privacy. We expect all guests and visitors to respect and uphold these fundamental principles of care.

Visiting inpatient clients

Inpatient visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to pre-arrange their visit so staff can plan clinical care accordingly, and all visitors must be approved by a client prior to accessing the inpatient unit.

Interested in the building?

To maintain a safe space for clients, Casey House is not open to the public. If you are interested in learning more about the architecture or inquiring about a tour, contact us.

Are you coming to stay with us on the inpatient unit? If you have them, bring these items:

  • Health card and any current hospital cards
  • Current medications
  • A list of any allergies to drugs or food
  • Information about health care and service providers:
    • Names and contact information for doctors, including primary care provider and any and all specialists involved in your health care (business cards are useful)
    • The name (business card) of your dentist
    • Names and contact information for community workers and service providers you would like to stay in contact with
    • Important phone numbers and addresses (ideally in a notebook with blank pages for new numbers)
  • Names and contact information of family, friends and loved ones who are aware that you are at Casey House and who you may like to see during your stay
  • Comfortable clothing: sweater, T-shirts, sweatpants, pajamas, housecoat, slippers and shoes
  • Photos or small items from home which bring comfort
  • Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, hairbrush, lip balm, body lotion, nail file (clipper), etc.

As a day health program client, you will meet with different clinical team members to identify your health goals and determine the best individual and group activities to improve your health and wellness.Together, you will set a schedule and learn how to book appointments and register for groups.
